Generating Community in Rockingham

We are delighted to have teamed up with the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce (RKCCI) to develop the Community Café. This pop-up style sea container café has been built in anticipation of the Rockingham Beach Foreshore Redevelopment that aims to encourage visitors from within and outside Rockingham to visit the vibrant foreshore.

We donated a Honda EU70is generator to provide power to the Café. RKCCI Chief Executive Officer, Tony Solin, expressed his thanks for our donation, “MRL’s support for the local community is truly felt within the region, and we are very grateful for the generosity”.

The Rockingham Beach Foreshore Redevelopment incorporates a vision called “Eat Street” where pop-up food stalls can take place from time to time, stimulating support for local business. Prior to the completion of the Foreshore Redevelopment, the Community Café can be booked by local charities and non-for-profit organisations for festivals/events to generate much needed funds.

The first charity to book the Community Café is Youthovation, a non-for-profit organisation that supports young people’s ideas for creating sustainable employment. Youthovation will not only make use of the Café to generate funds, but will also be used for barista training for young people wanting to make a positive change in life.
